Designed by Hanns Trippel, this little German amphibious car was produced from 1961-1965 although they continued to be sold until 1968 from existing inventory. It is believed that only 3,878 were built. Power was provided by a 4-cylinder 1147 cc Triumph engine. It had originally been hoped that the car would prove popular for use on the extensive canal systems that existed in Europe but the majority came to the United States where they were bought primarily as a novelty by people such as President Lyndon Johnson.
