Antonio Lago obtained the French Talbot company when Sunbeam-Talbot-Darracq went under in 1935. In most countries his cars would be marketed under the name Talbot-Lago other than in France where they were badged as Talbots and in Britain as Darracqs.
The company produced touring, sporting and racing cars. Lago-SS and T150 models were typically fitted with bodies from coachbuilders like Figoni & Falaschi, Saoutchik and Carrosserie Pourtout.
In 1948, the company started production of the T26 Grand Sport which were all fitted with coachbuilder bodywork.
In 1959, the company was sold to Simca.
